Can I transfer properties from personal to companies tax-free?

How can I transfer properties in Manchester held in our personal names to companies without incurring tax liabilities?

It could be that you are eligible for 'incorporation relief' as per HMRC’s capital gains tax manual, which defers the capital gain when a business is transferred to a company. Also, it could be that you are eligible for 'partnership relief' as per HMRC’s Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) manual, which would exempt the company from paying SDLT. But there are rules for both reliefs, so you need a tax adviser to determine whether you 'fit into the box'.
