Are there any tax implications upon buying a property in cash?

If I buy a second property in Bristol as a cash buyer, will I be taxed? 

Arthur Weller replies:  

You will have to pay stamp duty land tax (SDLT) like anyone else. And because it is your second property, there will be an extra 3% SDLT. It makes no difference that you are a cash buyer.
