 Offset the Loss on Property Against the Interest Received from Savings Accounts?
Q.3: My daughter bought a property which she lets out. It is making a loss after accounting for interest on the buy to let mortgage used for buying the property. She does, however, have deposits in saving accounts. Can she offset the loss on property against the interest she is receiving from the savings accounts?

 How much CGT will I be Liable for?
Q.1: I have been living in my property for 10 years. During this`time`I have gradually improved it from a derelict condition to a good standard. I paid £60k and it is now worth over £240k, a 4x increase. I don't have receipts for much of the work as it was DIY. I would now like to let the property and am worried that I will be liable for CGT for the value increase across the entire period, and end up paying CGT on the vast bulk of the improvements... In what Manner should I Claim Tax Relief for Travel to and from my Property, 350 Miles Away
Q: In what manner should I claim tax relief for travel to and from my property, which is 350 miles away, to undertake maintenance? Actual cost of petrol or at a mileage rate of 40p/mile (AA rate)? Maintenance was the sole reason for my trip and I stayed in the property, which, at that time, was furnished and unoccupied.

Q: The lessees of a block of twelve flats own the freehold to the block, having formed a Limited company to purchase it. Each lessee has one share in the company. The company will grant a lease extension to each shareholder without charging a premium. Will the company be charged tax for this transaction?
